Environmental conservation is not the responsibility of one person or entity; it requires collective effort. Since independence, our country has seen immense growth and wealth creation, but in the process, we have exploited natural resources without sustaining them.
While per capita income has risen, life expectancy has declined due to pollution and environmental degradation. The rapid rise in carbon emissions, with fuel consumption reaching 4,713 barrels per day in 2021, has worsened global warming.
